This waterfall only flows a few days out of the year, after a heavy rain or when the snow is melting.

Meadowlark Photography Expo 2007
February 4th & 5th 2007

This was my second time participating in the Meadowlark Expo. It is a juried show requiring approval of the judges for admission. I was fortunate to have 8 photos accepted to the show. A ninth photo of mine was chosen to represent the Reston Photographic Society in the Visitor's Choice competition which entailed a butterfly theme. All of the prints were 11" x 14" matted in white.

Most surprising was that out of the nine photos I entered, seven sold during the show and I received orders for additional copies of several of the photos.

Huntley Meadows Photo Show
December 2nd, 2006 -  February 28th, 2006

All three 11" x 14" photos that I submitted were accepted into the show and are on display through February 26th, 2006.

I was thrilled to learn that "Blue Heron's Prize Catch" won first place and "Got My Eye On You!" was awarded Honorable Mention.

Walker Exhibit - Reston, Virginia
April 29 - June 6th - photos exhibited on 4th floor

This was a framed exhibit only open to those who were juried into the Meadowlark Photo Expo (see Meadowlark Nature Expo details below). The space available to each participant was quite large and allowed me to squeeze in 15 prints.

The actual presentation looked better than the photo below. The glare on the glass was from a nearby window and the flash I used to take the photo. Even got a partial reflection of my wife in one of the photos!

The small colorful rectangle in the bottom/middle are 4x6" information cards I had printed and displayed in a plastic holder for people to take.

Great Falls Park - 1st Annual Photo Contest

I took this photo specifically to enter into the contest. With all of the great photographers in this area I expected the competition to be extremely strong and was very pleased to win 2nd prize.

Meadowlark Nature Photo Expo
February 25 & 26, 2006

I was extremely pleased to have the following five photos juried into the show.
Apparently, judging was very tough this year. The experience was a very good one, I learned a lot and had a great time.
