Freeloader is a slick Windows Sysex utility created by Alesis for use 
with there QS series synthesizers. I have tried it with the Korg 03R/W 
and found that it works just fine.

---------------Freeloader Use--------------------------------------

If you have sounds in the 03R/W (other than the factory defaults since 
they can be reset) that you want to keep, you need to save them first. 
Skip to the Upload From 03R/W section of this text file.

Start the Freeloader program

Select your midi port using the DEVICES pull down menu (for simple 
dumping of patch banks you only need to be concerned with the OUTPUT 
PORT). Click DONE once ports have been selected.

Set the directory your .syx files are in, by using the box in the lower
left corner of the Freeloader window. Your current directory is displayed
at the bottom of the Freeloader window.

Once the directory is set, select the file you want to send to the 
03R/W from the box in the lower right corner of the Freeloader window 
and then click the ADD button. This will place the file in the large 
window. 

You can add both of the associated combi and prog files to the large 
window and they will both be sent to the 03R/W. All files added to the 
large window will be sent at the same time, so only include one program 
and combi file at a time. 

To send the bank(s) to your 03R/W click on the play button ( > ). 
You should see the word "Processing...." flashing on the bottom line 
of your 03R/W display window.

Start the Freeloader program

Select your midi port using the DEVICES pull down menu (INPUT PORT 
must be selected in order to upload). Click DONE once the ports have 
been selected.

Then select Sysex from the pull down menu. A small window titled Sysex 
Receiver will open.

Press the Wait For Sysex button in the Sysex Receiver Window. It will 
now say SEND SYSEX NOW above the button you just clicked.

Now press the GLOBAL MULTI button on the 03R/W until 00A TUNE/TRANS is 
displayed in the 03R/W display window. 

Press the PAGE+ (top middle button) button 4 times. The display now says 
04A MIDI DUMP.

On the second line of the 03R/W display the word PROGRAM should be 
flashing. This can be changed to COMBINATION by pressing the +1 (top 
right button) button and back to PROGRAM by pressing the -1 (bottom 
right button) button. Select which type you want to save using this 
method.

Once you have selected the type of MID Dump you want to execute, press 
the +10 (top second from right button) button until "OK?" is flashing on 
the 03R/W display.

To start the dump once "OK?" is flashing press the +1 button. The 03R/W 
display will now show "PROCESSING...." and the text in Freeloader's 
Sysex Receiver window will display "Receiving Midi". 

You can confirm that all of the data was received for the specific type 
by checking the bytes count in Freeloader's Sysex Receiver window. They 
should be as follows:

Program Data: 19,665
Combination Data: 14,636

Once you have confirmed the dump size, save the file by clicking the 
SAVE button in Freeloader's Sysex Receiver window, selecting a directory 
and entering a file name.
